My story
When I was asked to join the CCO board, I have to admit I had to think about it for a moment. I love music, but was I the right person for an orchestra board? Now I know just how well it fits. Contributing ideas about development and finding connections among what’s often already there gives me energy, especially with an orchestra where the power of diversity is so audible and visible.
Harnessing the power of diversity is a common thread running through my work and my beliefs. Both during my time in education and in my current policy role at a government agency, I enjoy working by drawing on different perspectives. At the Catching Cultures Orchestra, I see that value reflected time and again: people coming together, strengthening one another, and creating something together that is greater than the sum of its parts.
I am proud to contribute to this, and I take just as much pleasure in listening to and watching what this extraordinary orchestra brings to life time and time again.
