My story
My name is Talib Rasool, and I come from South Kurdistan (Northern Iraq). My roots lie in the ancient land of Mesopotamia and the Zagros Mountains. The culture and heritage of Greater Kurdistan form my foundation. Musically, my roots are connected to my people's struggle for freedom and equality. In high school, I started singing at events and parties. Music has been present ever since I was a child. The first thing I sang must have been one of the thousands of Kurdish folk songs. Through my friend Ali Authman, who is also a member of the orchestra, I joined CCO in 2025.

My input in the orchestra
Within the Catching Cultures Orchestra, I represent Kurdish music and culture, sharing my love and inspiration with the audience. So far, I primarily sing with CCO, but I also play the saz. I hope to incorporate them more often in the future, because the sound and feel of the saz touch me deeply.
