My story

I come from a musical family and have been singing since childhood. Singing means so much to me; it's my way of expressing myself. After coming to the Netherlands 10 years ago, I quickly found my way to CCO through the asylum seekers' center (AZC). I've remained involved ever since and have watched the orchestra grow into a high-quality, professional orchestra that creates beautiful intercultural music.

As a singer, I combine melody with lyrics and free improvisation in a maqam. For me, that's the essence of Arabic music. I also enjoy engaging the audience. When they start clapping and dancing during a song, it gives me energy and joy.
